Day tour to the Cliffs of Moher with Joey

Hi guys!

This is Delia from Matera, Italy.

I am here in Dublin from a week, doing an European Project, Erasmus Entepreneurs, at Extreme Ireland, for few months.

I would like to organize touristic tours, as they do, in my region, Basilicata, so yesterday I started to try one of them: Day tour to the Cliffs of Moher.

The funny thing was that I did it like a normal client: Joey, the driver, didn’t know who I was!

So I booked a ticket online and went next day, at 7 a.m. to the bus, right next to Trinity College and the bus didn’t go till everybody on the list was there!

While leaving Dublin the driver/guide started to show us the important buildings and monuments on our way and I wandered, because I didn’t expect it! In Italian tours you don’t have a driver/guide, you have a driver and a guide!

So Joey was all in one!! And he is a singer to! He was singing all the time! And was so funny!! We laughed a lot!!

The best of the tour is that is not just a trip to Cliffs of Moher, you stop in different places!

The first stop is at Limerick, a lovely town on the river Shannon with King John’s Castle and the famous “Treaty Stone”, where Joey told us all the history about the town.Day tour to the Cliffs of Moher, St Johns Castle

So we left to the masterpiece….

It is a good tour not only for the places you visit or the singing guide’, the good is also the trip itself! That’s to say you have a great view from your window: the landscape is fantastic!

Of course the Cliffs of Moher are breathtaking!

You can go around for an hour and a half and taste this Mother Nature masterpiece, with Irish live musical background (there are some musicians up there! ) And buy some souvenirs from the shops  caved in the mountain.

Cliffs is a place full of energy..you feel so good sensation there..it seems to be in another era.. in Middle Ages…and surely I will come back…

Then we stopped for an hour to have lunch in a restaurant near there, and as the weather was fantastic, with a great warm sun, I ate out. It was in the village of Doolin, a lovely place where traditional Irish music germinated and obviously there are a lot of music festivals all around the year!

So we started our way back to Dublin, through a different route, better in my opinion, because you can admire the great flora and fauna of this part of Ireland: flowers, trees inclined by the wind, sheep, cows, horses and birds.

And we stopped again!!!

This time at Galway Bay, something like a primordial bay where I really felt home! It is so close to my township that I couldn’t believe it! It was like walking around my town, but with the blue ocean!! And I took a lot of photos there!! You have lots of point of views…and the guide was singing sitting on the overhang!

Few minutes later we saw another church, without the roof and whit an old cementery and lots of cows surrounding it!
